Job summary

Woodfin Heating, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking an Insulation and Encapsulation/IAQ Technician to install air purification systems, germicidal UV lights, humidifiers, encapsulations, and clean air ducts for customers in the Central VA area.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma with 2+ years of related experience, ability to work in crawl spaces or attics, and fluent English. A Virginia driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience strongly preferred.
• Physically capable of working in crawl spaces or attics for prolonged periods.
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Install air purification systems, germicidal UV lights, and/or humidifiers.
• Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces.
• Fit, wrap, staple, or glue insulating materials to structures or surfaces.
• Distribute insulating materials evenly into small spaces within floors, ceilings, or walls.
• Clean job site and prepare surfaces prior to installation.
• Clean air ducts throughout customers’ homes.
• Install various types of insulation and encapsulation products.

Woodfin – Your Home Team is hiring an Insulation and Encapsulation/Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Technician. The IAQ Technician serves the Central VA Area to install air purification systems, germicidal UV lights, humidifiers, encapsulations, clean air ducts and other related tasks to ensure customers receive the purest breathable air possible.

What You’ll Do

• Install air purification systems, germicidal UV lights, and/or humidifiers.
• Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces.
• Fit, wrap, staple, or glue insulating materials to structures or surfaces.
• Distribute insulating materials evenly into small spaces within floors, ceilings, or walls.
• Clean job site and prepare surfaces prior to installation.
• Clean air ducts throughout customers’ homes.
• Install various types of insulation and encapsulation products.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior experience performing tasks related to the job (crawl space encapsulations, air duct cleaning, air purifying system installs, etc.) is strongly preferred.
• Physically capable of working in crawl spaces or attics for prolonged periods of time.
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills are required.

Driving Requirements

• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Must have positive points on state driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
• Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
• All driving records are run as part of our pre‑employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
