Job summary

Applied Control seeks an Instrumentation & Valve Asset Specialist to work with strategic customers on automation, maintenance and reliability using Emerson Smart Valve and Measurement technologies. The role features a 2x2 rotation with regular customer-site commutes.

The candidate will leverage AMS Device Manager, Valvelink, and Emerson devices to improve efficiency, reliability and cost reduction while delivering training and mentorship on best practices.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent;Instrumentation technologist diploma or journeyman designation required
• 3+ years in an operating process facility is an asset
• Experience with Emerson AMS Device Manager/Valvelink preferred
• Experience with control valves, flow meters and instrumentation preferred
• Maintenance or reliability experience is a plus
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and support customer maintenance and reliability work processes using Emerson technologies.
• Provide expert-level AMS Device Manager diagnostics and predictive alerts.
• Offer reliability and technical support for Emerson/Applied Control products at engineering and maintenance levels.
• Deliver and quantify customer value; provide practical training on Emerson technologies.
• Create and maintain instrument data, diagnostics, datasheets and SIS validation records.
• Inventory optimization and management; participate in instrument and valve turnarounds.

Instrumentation & Valve Asset Specialist

We are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation & Valve Asset Specialist to work within the Applied APM Team. The role is focused on working directly with Strategic Customers as a key member of their Automation, Maintenance & Reliability teams in leveraging Emerson Smart Valve & Measurement technologies to drive efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.

The 2 X 2 rotational program affords a unique schedule providing two weeks off each month.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and support the Customer’s maintenance and reliability work processes through the utilization of Emerson technologies.
• Provide an expert-level utilization of Emerson’s AMS Device Manager Suite, including diagnostics and predictive alert capabilities.
• Provide direct reliability and technical support for Emerson/Applied Control products at both an engineering and maintenance level.
• Deliver and quantify Customer value
• Offer practical training and mentorship on how to use Emerson’s technologies effectively.
• Create, enhance, and maintain the integrity of instrument data, including but not limited to diagnostic records, maintenance logs, datasheets, and SIS instrument validation records.
• Inventory optimization and management
• Take part in the development, optimization, and execution of the scope for instrument and valve turnarounds.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree, Instrumentation Technologist Diploma or Instrumentation Journeyman designation from an accredited institution required
• 3+ Years industry experience in an operating process facility is an asset
• Experience working with Emerson devices and AMS Device Manager/Valvelink software preferred
• Experience with Control Valves, Flow Meters, and Instrumentation preferred
• Experience in a Maintenance or Reliability Specialist role preferred
• Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

(2x2 Rotation) This role requires flexibility and the ability to commute to the customer site on a regular schedule.

Compensation: Base rate range: $28.00-$43.00 per hour

Work experience, industry knowledge, and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the base wage
