Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced engineer technician to support electrical fabrication, instrumentation installation, and testing in Tukwila, WA. The role involves reading wire harness diagrams, assembling wire/fiber optic bundles, and performing qualification tests on various equipment.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year reading harness diagrams, 1+ year electrical fabrication experience, and 3+ years in strain gaging or aircraft electrical systems; relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading wire harness diagrams and installation schematics (1+ year).
  • Experience in electrical fabrication and required processes (1+ year).
  • Strain gaging and aircraft electrical systems experience preferred (3+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Receive work assignments and obtain necessary materials and equipment.
  • Obtain engineering drawings and test documents as required.
  • Fabricate wire or fiber optic bundles used to connect test equipment.
  • Set up and perform qualification test, bench test, or automatic test as required per work assignment.
  • Install fiber optic strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and strain gages.
  • Use a scissor or boom lift to access areas for instrumentation installation.
  • Modify test equipment to meet engineering configuration.
  • Select proper hand, power, and bench tools for the operation.
  • Use shop tools and any test equipment to complete work.
  • Write tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log.
  • Devise and build shop aids and work around methods as necessary.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
  • Maintain personal and tool certifications as required.
  • Comply with tool control policies.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Receive work assignment from team leader or supervisor and obtain necessary materials and equipment
  • Obtain appropriate engineering drawings and test documents, as required, for assignment
  • Fabricate wire or fiber optic bundles used to connect various types of test and computer equipment together
  • Set up and perform qualification test, bench test, or automatic test as required per work assignment
  • Install fiber optic strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and strain gages
  • Use a scissor or boom lift to access areas for instrumentation installation
  • Perform modification of test equipment to meet engineering configuration
  • Select proper hand, power, and/or bench tools needed to perform required operation
  • Use shop tools and any test equipment required to complete work assignment
  • Write tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log
  • Devise and/or build shop aids and work around methods as necessary
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner
  • Maintain personal and tool certifications as required
  • Comply with applicable tool control policies
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting wire harness diagrams and installation schematics
  • 1+ year of experience in electrical (wire shop) fabrication and required processes
  • 3+ years of strain gaging experience (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in Aircraft Electrical systems (preferred)
  • Certification(s) in Electrical (Crimping, Bond and Ground); Mechanical (Fork lift, Hand truck, Pressure/vacuum); or Safety (Electrical, Egress, Explosives) (preferred)
