Job summary

Croda has an opening for an Electrical Technician within our maintenance team, referred to as an I&E Technician. Journeyperson papers in electrical trade are required, with NCCER certification also acceptable.

The role focuses on electrical and instrumentation tasks and does not include line management responsibilities. The position performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting of PLCs and systems, and uses SAP for planning.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Overall Role Description

Croda has an opening for an Electrical Technician within our maintenance team. Referred to as an I&E Technician. (Instrumentation and Electrical Technician). This individual should have Journeyperson papers in the electrical trade. Individuals with electrical experience should apply, regardless of instrumentation background.

Key Duties/Purpose Of Role

This role is not on-call, although may voluntarily accept overtime calls. Knowledge of safe work practices and a commitment to safety is required. The pay rate is $47.80 / hr. additional details below:

• The position is responsible for the support of manufacturing equipment and all required maintenance tasks associated with it. The ideal candidate will have Electrical or Instrumentation Journeyperson Certification (papers). Or an NCCER Certificate of the Journey-Level Assessment for Industrial Electricians.

This position is required to perform routine facility maintenance. Installs, maintains, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventative and predictive maintenance on various types of electrical and electronic circuitry, and electro-mechanical. Replacing and wiring motors, instruments, and standard commercial fixtures. Troubleshooting instruments and PLCs. Repairing or replacing control valves and actuated ball valves. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal customers to ensure that work is implemented in a safe and timely manner. Attend site meetings, risk assessment studies and review meetings as required. Use computer systems for planned and reactive maintenance activities (SAP). This role carries no line management responsibilities, but the post holder will be expected to work both as part of a small team and on their own depending on the tasks being performed. The person may be expected to coach and advise less experienced employees and contractors e.g. apprentices. Use planning skills in order to carry out daily maintenance and small project tasks in a safe, healthy and environmentally acceptable manner. Identify materials and equipment required to rectify faults and breakdowns. Ensure compliance with the relative legislative and site codes and standards within the scope of the role and be accountable for their own Health and Safety and those around them who could be affected by their actions. Attended required trainings throughout the year.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Required Electrical Journey Person Papers.

Or an NCCER Certificate of the Journey-Level Assessment for Industrial Electricians.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds and 155 lbs. with help

Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head

Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds

Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists

Ability to climb ladders and stair towers safely and without limitation

Ability to work in production environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air-conditioned

Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours

Required to move throughout the production floor including uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders.

Must be able to wear a full-face respirator and pass all pulmonary function tests.

Must be able to pass drug test, physical, and background check
