Job summary

BERTRANDT US INC in Mauldin, SC is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to install instrumentation, test equipment, sensors, and related components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specs, standards, and test procedures. This temporary role involves full-vehicle tear-down and high- and low-voltage wiring work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years automotive technician experience.
• Experience with electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Full-vehicle tear-down and assembly experience.
• Experience with sensors and instrumentation.
• Experience with data acquisition systems.
• Experience with low-voltage and high-voltage wiring.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install instrumentation on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards and test procedures.
• Test equipment, sensors and related components.
• Perform full-vehicle tear-down and assembly, wiring and fabrication of components.
• Conduct test driving, troubleshooting and detailed documentation.
• Coordinate with the Garage Manager and lead technicians.

Job Type: Temporary.

Pay Range: $40 to $50 hourly.

The role of the Instrumentation Technician is to Install instrumentation, test equipment, sensors, and related components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and test procedures. Perform full-vehicle tear-down and assembly, low- and high-voltage wiring, fabrication or modification of components and fixtures, test driving, troubleshooting, detailed documentation, and close coordination with the Garage Manager and lead technicians.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional automotive technician experience
• Experience with electric and hybrid vehicles (required)
• Full-vehicle tear-down and assembly experience
• Experience using strain gauges, thermocouples, string potentiometers, displacement gauges, accelerometers, and force transducers
• Experience with data acquisition systems, including ETAS, eDAQ, Michigan Scientific, Kistler, Peak, and Vector
• Experience with low-voltage and high-voltage vehicle wiring systems
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex vehicle systems
