Job summary

Brickmua is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to maintain and troubleshoot various electrical and automated systems at the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority. The ideal candidate should have at least a high school diploma, ability to read electrical schematics, and three years of relevant experience.

The position offers a salary range of $40,560 to $70,000 depending on experience along with medical, dental, vision, and pension benefits after a 90-day probationary period.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Minimum three years of experience in electrical work, instrumentation repair and calibration (preferred).
• Experience with SCADA systems (preferred).
• Journeyman Electrician License (preferred).
• Strong understanding of electronics and electrical circuits.
• Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.
• Valid N.J. Driver’s license.

• Working on commercial electrical infrastructure up to 480V.

Instrumentation Technician - The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority

BTMUA, a progressive and large public utility, owns, operates and maintains a water treatment facility and distribution system serving approximately 86,000 people and a sewer collection system serving approximately 75,000 people. This position reports to the Water Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Installation, operation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automated measuring and control devices and electrical powered equipment, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, motors, actuators, and all other devices, including control and monitoring systems.
• Wiring and configuring electrical power and control signals.
• Working on commercial electrical infrastructure up to 480V.
• Available for after-hour emergencies, rotating shifts, weekends, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Minimum three years of experience in electrical work, instrumentation repair and calibration (preferred).
• Experience with SCADA systems (preferred).
• Journeyman Electrician License (preferred).
• Strong understanding of electronics, electrical circuits, and proficiency in diagnostic tools including calibration devices.
• Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $40,560 - $70,000/year depending on experience and qualifications. Upon completion of a 90‑day probationary period, benefits include medical, dental, vision, pension, and paid time off.
