Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in La Porte, Indiana is seeking an Area Leader responsible for calibration, installation and repair of instrumentation hardware, and for heat treat and casting equipment operations. You will collaborate with Process Owners and Technicians to ensure standards and customer requirements are met.

The role requires hands-on experience with high‑voltage control and industrial machinery, strong documentation skills, and flexibility for schedule changes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years' experience with up to 480-volt control, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication in an industrial setting.

Our state-of-the‑art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is seeking Area Leaders to join our team. Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.

This position is responsible for the calibration, installation and repair of instrumentation hardware for assigned equipment, and also includes responsibility for heat treat and casting equipment operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilizes documentation and instructions to calibrate and install various types of instrumentation hardware within a manufacturing environment.

  • Interprets and implements required specifications according to various industry and customer standards.

  • Evaluates Activity Instructions to ensure instrumentation requirements are accurate and aligned with required specifications.

  • Work closely with Process Owners and Level III Technicians to assure compliance to standards and customer requirements.

  • Maintains and updates audit and calibration schedules to meet industry and customer standards.

  • Maintains detailed documentation as required in order to meet various audit, customer and industry requirements.

  • Maintains and procures applicable calibration tools and standards necessary to maintain the instrumentation.

  • Lead and assist with equipment troubleshooting, installations, repairs and rebuilds.

  • Train others in instrumentation and equipment fundamentals.

  • Be available for call-in and other changes in normal scheduling.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years' experience working with up to 480-volt control, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication in an industrial setting.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
