Job summary

Austin Industries seeks an Instrument Fitter to install and remove instrumentation, read related blueprints, and wire control systems for valves and sensors.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and schematics for instrumentation projects.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electrical basics.
• Ability to install and calibrate instrumentation devices and wiring.

Responsibilities

• Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
• Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electricity.
• Cuts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for instrument lines using hacksaws and pipe cutters.
• Installs instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and verifies operation.
• Installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches and other devices.
• May steam trace lines when necessary.
• May install flanges and/orifice plates.
• May repair steam traps.
• May perform other duties necessary to remove, install or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification to meet state regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
