Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our RD - Reading site's maintenance team based in Reading, PA. The ideal candidate for the Instrumentation & Electrical Technician possesses a safety mindset and applies a high degree of self-driven ownership and accountability over their duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate problems with instruments and sensors including flow meters, variable speed drives, temperature sensors, pressure and level transmitters, air quality sensors, communications devices, and interfaces.
• Repair and maintain electrical and instrument equipment using hand tools, power tools, & precision measuring and testing instruments. Engage in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and instruments.
• Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, instrument loop diagrams, and BIDS.
• Work with DCS, programming, troubleshooting programmable logic controls (PLC), control software, and human-machine interface systems is a plus.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety rules and procedures.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma / GED
• Must have one of the following:
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation / electrical field
• Journeyman Instrument / Electrical Certificate
• Associate Degree in I & E Technology
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RFCA)
• Good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and safety practices
• Ability to identify practices and equipment improvements to increase reliability or reduce costs
