Veolia WTS is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E Tech) to support our plant in Baytown, TX. This is a Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends, if needed, and this is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Industrial Electrician, Electrical and Controls Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E&I Tech), or similar.
In this role, you will primarily be focused on analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, improving, and maintaining up to 480v electrical power circuits and equipment. You will also maintain and upgrade control and automation systems and instrumentation, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pump stations, water plant operations, and measuring and monitoring equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment
Complete all required documentation associated with duties
Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drives, and auxiliary equipment
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Mentor and train employees when the opportunity presents itself
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all tools and equipment needed for duties
Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
Stay up to date on Operations Qualifications and required training
Daily or weekly travel to operating sites
Interface and communicate with customers and suppliers as required
Complies with company Safety and Quality policies and Code of Conduct
Must be able to respond to callouts and emergencies (within 1-2 hours) during and after regular business hours
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient with electronic/electrical test instruments and measurement devices
Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams
Experience working with water treatment equipment is a plus
Ability to work with a team and coordinate work schedules
Demonstrates a high attention to details and is able to follow work processes, standards, and requirements
Must be able to work from elevated platforms, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc
Knowledge of basic programming and PLC/HMI software preferred
Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware and software preferred
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required -AA degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
2+ years of relevant instrumentation and electrical experience in an industrial environment
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
