Job summary

Chemours is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Reliability Engineer for the New Johnsonville site in Tennessee. You will support maintenance and operations, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure reliability of key production equipment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, reviewing maintenance procedures, leading RCA teams, and coordinating MOC activities for safety, quality, and cost improvements. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • At least 6 months of manufacturing or industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of instruments, analyzers, basic electrical wiring, and control valves.
  • Ability to lead long-term programs and handle short-term issues.
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Provide E&I engineering support to maintenance and operations.
  • Develop expertise in equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Manage MOC documentation to improve safety, quality, and cost.
  • Support I&E up to 480V: instruments, analyzers, wiring, power panels, motors, drives.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, Kaizen events, and problem-solving sessions.
  • Prepare scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and equipment specs.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Reliability Engineer to join the Titanium Technologies facility at Chemours' New Johnsonville site. The role involves supporting maintenance activities for I&E crews and operators, driving root‑cause analysis of instrument and electrical issues, and ensuring reliability of key production equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide E&I engineering assistance to maintenance and operations, including troubleshooting, evaluation of equipment failures, and technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
  • Develop subject‑matter expertise in area‑specific equipment and review/prep maintenance work procedures and training.
  • Initiate management of change documents to improve safety, quality, environmental impact, or cost of the production area.
  • Provide technical assistance for all I&E up to 480V: instruments (level, flow, pressure), analyzers, basic electric (120VAC–480V) wiring, power panels, heat trace, motors, starters (MCC), VFD, and burners.
  • Support MOC and capital‑project scope of work for I&E.
  • Approve area MOC for I&E scope<480V and ensure electrical classification and safety practices are observed.
  • Provide guidance to technicians on laptop interface with I&E technology.
  • Participate in process hazard analyses and scope development for capital projects.
  • Lead root‑cause failure analysis teams, Kaizen events, and problem‑solving sessions.
  • Prepare and audit scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and equipment specifications.
  • Review preventive maintenance plans and procedures to assure optimum process performance.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and designs, exercising effective judgment on functionality, cost, and timing.
  • Network with site reliability engineers and technicians to support improvement initiatives.
  • Provide shift or weekend coverage for start‑ups, tests, maintenance turnarounds, or other non‑routine needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 6months of manufacturing or industrial experience (including co‑op/internship experience).
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: instruments (level, flow, pressure), analyzers, basic electric 120VAC–480V wiring, power panels, heat trace, motors, starters (MCC), VFD, and control valves.
  • Ability to manage and lead both strategic long‑term programs/projects and address short‑term operational issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly with a diverse team.
  • Ability to manage work and undertake multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence leadership, peers, and mechanics; a hands‑on approach with operators and mechanics.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of corporate standards (e.g., RAGEGAP, NEC).
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and automated equipment maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of Probability of Failure on Demand (PFD) requirements.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Understanding of PSM systems and high‑hazard processes.
  • Six Sigma and Lean certification.
Compensation

Pay Range (in local currency): $73,947.00 – $115,542.00. Level23. Annual bonus target: 6%.
