Job description

Role Overview

Chemours invites talented engineers to join our team. We are redefining how the world thinks of chemistry and are seeking a Manufacturing Technology Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer for the Thermal & Specialized Solutions business at the Corpus Christi Plant (Ingleside, TX). This position reports to the Manufacturing Technology Manager and focuses on providing engineering support for the plant’s unit processes, including synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping operations, as well as improvement programs in safety, uptime, reliability, and cost.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and troubleshooting assistance to the plant’s unit processes to maintain and improve safety, operability, quality, and cost.
  • Support both cost and capital projects, scoping, justifying, and coordinating installation of new or modified facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise for systems such as PLC, interlock, DCS, low and medium‑voltage electrical distribution, motor control centers, switchgear, relays, power‑cable sizing, transmitters, flowmeters, pressure and level sensors, control valves, motors, variable‑speed drives, and related equipment.
  • Lead and participate in Safety, Reliability, and Quality investigations, identifying and implementing actions for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain technical expertise through training, seminars, and professional organizations.
  • Provide shift and weekend coverage for start‑ups, testing, maintenance, turnarounds, or other non‑routine needs.
  • Travel less than 10%.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
  • Minimum 2years of industrial or military‑equivalent experience, including co‑op or internship.
  • Passion for growth in the instrumentation/electrical engineering profession.
  • High level of personal initiative and flexibility to move projects forward safely and on schedule.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data‑based decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage short‑duration deadlines, emergencies, and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar business software.
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with field personnel on operational troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) background.
  • Experience with Probability of Failure (PFD) analysis on safety interlock systems.
  • Experience with Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Knowledge of industry standards (NEC, ISA, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and best practices/programs in engineered solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in power systems analysis and applications.
