Job description

Operations Manager – New Johnsonville Plant, New Johnsonville, TN

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and execute business objectives, priorities and progress across operations and maintenance.
  • Develop short‑to‑mid term plans, identify improvement activities, and coordinate team resources.
  • Collaborate with the plant manager to establish Key Performance Indicators and provide input to supply chain strategy.
  • Contribute to the 5‑10 year site strategic plan that supports business and corporate strategy.
  • Drive Lean principles (standard work, visual management, daily management systems, structured problem solving) to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Coach and develop leaders at all levels in Lean tools and behaviors to achieve lasting cultural change.
  • Align operations with site strategic plan and vision; provide strategic leadership to move the plant toward a world‑class competitive position.
  • Utilize performance tracking metrics to drive execution and oversee improvement programs and asset productivity best practices.
  • Develop and maintain plant infrastructure capabilities, improvement and resource plans.
  • Interface with key site and above‑site personnel on plant matters.
  • Set expectations and hold people accountable for core value compliance (SHE/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People).
  • Manage quality processes and implement best practices; conduct Management Reviews to validate Quality Policy and systems.
  • Investigate quality non‑conformances and determine disposition.
  • Develop and execute cost plans to meet annual P&CO commitments and monitor financial performance.
  • Create a respectful work environment that fosters engagement and continuous learning for all employees.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and empowerment through leader standard work and lean principles.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of manufacturing or industrial operations experience, including leadership in a high‑hazard or highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership of frontline teams and supervisors with accountability for safety, quality, production, and team building.
  • Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), EHS systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through KPIs, operational discipline, and performance management.
  • Willingness to relocate in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification or active participation in a Lean transformation.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data‑driven decision making.
Compensation

$126,067.00 - $196,980.00 (local currency).
