Job Summary

Job Title: Instrumentation Coordinator – Sterile Processing (Ear and Eye Institute)

Shift: First Shift

Responsibilities

An Instrumentation Coordinator prepares, sterilizes, installs, assembles, and cleans all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be safely reused to prevent infections, packages and delivers them aseptically, and serves as a clinical liaison between Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location. The role involves tracking and allocating sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise, standardizing instrument trays, overseeing daily activities between OR and Sterile Processing Departments, facilitating case flow through efficient case cart assembly, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization/high‑level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory, assisting in projects and process improvement, promoting customer service, patient satisfaction, and effective communication with clinical operations, and ordering, procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or possess a GED.
• At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist.
• CERTIFICATED: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued through IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) issued through CBSPD required upon hire, or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
