Job summary

eastenergyllc-com is seeking an I&C Technician in Farmville, VA to support maintenance and operations in resolving control system and process failures. You will serve as the subject matter expert for site control systems, lead EIC projects from design to startup, and educate peers on controls practices.

You will troubleshoot, implement improvements, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to upgrade equipment, enhance uptime, and ensure safety and quality across the plant.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the power generation industry.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent industrial controls experience.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, motivation, and commitment to lead and direct others to deliver results.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience delivering process improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley suite or similar PLCs (ControlLogix, PanelView, FactoryTalk, AssetCentre, VFDs).
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial controls networks (Ethernet IP).
  • Working knowledge of process instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of OT (Operational Technology) systems and hardware.
  • Ability to develop,readand interpret electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications, electrical safety, and power distribution.
  • Ability to travel up to 66% of the time (Farmville, Wilson, LaGrange).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve control systems and process failures.
  • Act as site SME for control systems.
  • Capitalize on EIC project design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Troubleshoot control system failures and educate peers and maintenance staff.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations for equipment changes for process improvements and upgrades.
  • Improve equipment uptime and contribute to plant reliability.
  • Develop and implement standards to maintain control architecture and integrity.
  • Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations for performance, safety, quality, and cost savings improvements.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Share expertise to build controls knowledge within the maintenance team.

Job description

Specific Accountabilities, ResponsibilitiesandDuties
  • The I&C Technician will collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve control systems and process failures.
  • The I&C Tech will be the subject matter expert for the site in matters relating to control systems.
  • Capital Project management and execution of EIC projects, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting control system failures and identifying solutions while educating peers and maintenance staff.
  • Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations to make necessary changes to equipment for process improvements, system upgrades, preventative procedures, product changes, and new product launches.
  • Improve equipment uptime and contribute to Plant reliability efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement standards tomaintainthecontrolsarchitecture and integrity.
  • Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations to deliver performance, safety, and quality improvements, as well as cost savings initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Share technicalexpertiseto buildcontrolsknowledge and capability within the maintenance team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).Work with hazardous materials may be required.
  • All personnel will participate in a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employmentrandom drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
