Job summary

Garver's Water Design Center in Fayetteville, AR is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Intern. You will collaborate with engineers to design instrumentation and control schematics, assist with SCADA architectures, and develop P&IDs for various processes.

This in-office internship offers hands-on learning, exposure to vendor reviews, and a pathway to Garver Launch, with mentoring from senior engineers and opportunities to contribute to real projects in the water sector.

Qualifications

• Pursuing electrical, electronics, computer, or automation engineering degree from an ABET or ATMAE accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: experience with AutoCAD or Revit design software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the engineering team to create detailed instrumentation and control designs.
• Assist with designs of SCADA systems and industrial Ethernet network architectures.
• Develop control schematics for PLC panels, motor starters, and VFD enclosures.
• Develop P&IDs and loop diagrams for various processes and systems.
• Participate in selection of instrumentation components (sensors, transmitters, valves, actuators).
• Collaborate on integration of control systems with other engineering disciplines.
• Aid in preparation of equipment datasheets, specifications, manuals.
• Assist in review and evaluation of vendor proposals and submittals.
• Participate in internal design reviews and team meetings, sharing insights and learning.
