Job summary

Onsite Personnel LLC seeks an Instrument and Controls Engineer to support the daily operation of an oil refining facility. You will modify and optimize automated control and power systems to meet business needs and ensure high plant availability, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to maintain safety, quality, and compliance.

This role requires hands-on troubleshooting of instrumentation, PLC logic, and electrical systems up to 480V, along with supervising contractors and

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years I&E experience in chemical/food/pharma manufacturing.
Familiarity with GE or Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
Ability to read P&IDs and electrical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical problems.
NJ Licensed Electrician preferred.
ISA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor, repair, and troubleshoot field instrumentation and controls systems including plant safety and power systems.
Install, loop check, maintain and troubleshoot PLC-based process control systems.
Calibrate, monitor, repair, maintain, label and document field instruments and sensors.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical distribution up to 480VAC.
Fabricate and install conduit; run power and control wiring per code requirements.
Select and wire motors from 120V to 480V for various needs.
Ensure work orders are documented and closed in CMMS.
Provide on-call support for 24/7 coverage.
Oversee contractor work to ensure safety and quality.
