Job summary

Kiewit invites talented students to join our Design Engineer Intern program as part of the DHO HR Operations and Intern departments. You will engage in hands-on construction design engineering, learn to create plans, review calculations, and participate in scheduling and risk mitigation to keep crews safe and productive.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil engineering or construction management, willing to travel, and eager to grow through practical field experiences, while learning industry

Qualifications

• Pursuing civil engineering, construction management, or related degree.
• Enrolled at Colorado School of Mines, Iowa State University, Purdue University, University of Colorado-Boulder, or University of Nebraska-Lincoln and part of Kiewit Scholars Program.
• Willingness to travel/relocate and work the summer internship.
• Strong work ethic and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, planning, cost control, and scheduling support.
• Assist with procurement, estimating, and field supervision.
• Maintain progress and cost records for the project.
• Plan and schedule job segments and activities.
• Investigate issues and propose practical solutions on site.
• Review plans and material requirements and pricing.
• Coordinate with suppliers to facilitate material delivery.
