Job summary

Freese and Nichols in Tampa, FL seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support I&C design for water and wastewater projects. You will work with licensed and senior engineers to develop design documents and apply engineering standards.

The role offers a hybrid work model with up to 40% remote, opportunities to learn CAD/BIM, PLC/SCADA concepts, and field involvement from FAT/SAT to startup, while advancing your I&C career within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering related to instrumentation and controls design.
Ability to acquire EIT certification.
Foundational knowledge of process-control concepts and project documentation.
Experience with CAD/BIM and document control workflows.

Responsibilities

Assist with portions of I&C design deliverables for water and wastewater projects.
Prepare and organize technical documentation, incorporate redlines and QA/QC feedback.
Learn and apply I&C team standards and project-specific client standards.
Build familiarity with water/wastewater processes, instrumentation, and PLC/SCADA terminology.
Develop basic I&C design information and interfaces with electrical and process design.
Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, and vendor teams; track action items.
