Job summary

Targa Resources seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to specify and evaluate electrical equipment for operations and complex projects. You will prepare bids, analyze power systems, and ensure designs meet safety and reliability standards across our facilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, performing short circuit and relay studies, and maintaining electrical drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of SKM/ETAP and NEC is required, with 3+ years in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience with power system design, power distribution equipment and protective relaying.
• Experience with design and troubleshooting of electric motors and related equipment.
• Experience in electrical modeling programs (SKM, ETAP) for power studies and arc flash calculations.
• Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and API standards."
• Strong communication skills and ability to interface with engineering and management teams.

Responsibilities

• Specify, evaluate and select electrical equipment for operations and projects.
• Prepare technical bids and/or proposal evaluations and recommendations.
• Evaluate and analyze designs of electrical systems including power generation, distribution and control systems.
• Provide technical assistance through reports, NEC interpretations and studies.
• Prepare short circuit, voltage drop, and relay coordination studies for reliability and safety.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and safety requirements.
• Develop electrical specifications and facility drawings.
• Investigate energy conservation opportunities and cost estimates.
• Supervise field work and coordinating contractor activities.
