Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Nashville is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join the Industrial Division. The role involves preparing and supporting instrumentation and controls deliverables, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet project objectives, and engaging with clients as needed.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited), 5+ years in instrumentation/controls, and experience with DCS/PLC; travel for field investigations and commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited school.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to exercise independent design decisions.
• Experience integrating interfacing and evaluating programming logic within DCS and/or PLC platforms in Industrial settings.
• Ability to handle multiple projects within deadlines.
• Five years or more of instrumentation/controls experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support instrumentation and controls deliverables (instrument indexes, I/O lists, control narratives, loop diagrams, panel layouts, network diagrams, cable schedules, specs).
• Work within a multi-disciplined team to deliver projects meeting objectives.
• Assist in client contact and communication for projects.
