Job summary

PPPL seeks an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to design, deploy and operate systems for plasma experiments, collaborating with engineers, researchers and technical staff. The role involves hands-on testing, diagnosing failures, and developing solutions across PPPL projects with international collaborations.

The position will support design, development, testing and operation phases, emphasizing innovation in instrumentation and control for safety and performance.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Familiarity with instrumentation & control systems and related engineering practices.
Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and LVL programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain and support instrumentation and control systems for plasma experiments.
Daily operation and maintenance of control and monitoring systems.
Develop diagrams, drawings and documentation for systems developed.
Apply controls theory to refine and improve designs of legacy and new systems.
Test systems, diagnose failures and render repairs as needed.
