Job summary

HDR is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design and implement control systems for building engineering services, including SCADA integration and networked control panels.

You will collaborate with electrical and process engineers, supervise staff as needed, and travel to client facilities to document the as‑is state and support commissioning. HDR emphasizes employee ownership and collaborative innovation in delivering measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture.
• Minimum of 5 years applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design control systems and develop SCADA construction documents (P&IDs, wiring diagrams).
• Coordinate workload and review documents across disciplines to ensure on-schedule delivery.
• Lead or support SCADA and network master planning projects and field activities at client facilities.
• Interface with Electrical and Process Engineers to coordinate network, power, control, and instrumentation requirements.
• Assist with system testing, commissioning, and documentation updates.
