Job summary

Charlotte County Utilities is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Technician to maintain the electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and automated control systems behind our water and wastewater infrastructure. This hands-on role supports treatment plants, pumping stations, and other facilities, solving problems and upgrading aging instrumentation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in electronics, instrumentation and controls.
Two years of experience in repair, inspection, adjustment, and calibration of electronic controls and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems in water and wastewater facilities.
Test and calibrate precision instrumentation used to monitor flow, pressure, temperature, and other processes.
Install and upgrade electronic instruments and automated controls.
Read drawings, sketches, schematics, records, and technical reports.
Participate in on‑call and emergency response programs to ensure essential services remain operational.
