Job summary

Loudoun Water is seeking a motivated Instrumentation / Control System Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair a wide range of industrial control equipment including PLCs, VFDs, SCADA systems, and process sensors. Certification options include ISA CCST Level 1 or Electrical Apprenticeship, with the ability to obtain within 12 months.

Requirements include at least two years of electronics coursework and four years in instrumentation/electronic systems, plus three years

Qualifications

• Two years of specialized vocational training or college coursework in electronics.
• Four years of instrumentation/electronic systems experience; three years with industrial control systems.
• Experience with process control sensors and SCADA in water/utilities is preferred.
• Ability to obtain ISA CCST Level 1 or Electrical Apprenticeship certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair or replace industrial control equipment.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA systems, sensors, and related electronics.
• Operate and update computer-based maintenance management systems; on-call/overtime as needed.

Job description

Loudoun Water is a public utility that provides water and wastewater services to customers in eastern Loudoun County (VA). We offer highly competitive salaries, a stable work environment and excellent employee benefits.

We are seeking a highly motivated, team oriented Instrumentation / Control System Technician with problem solving skills to install, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair or replace a wide variety of industrial control system equipment including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, process sensors, and other electronic equipment related to the water industry. ISA CCST Level 1 certification, Electrical Apprenticeship certification, or the ability to obtain either within 12 months.

Requirements: Minimum two years of specialized vocational training or college-level coursework in electronics and four years experience in the instrumentation/electronic systems; with three years with industrial control systems; preferably in water distribution and sewer utility operations. Experience with process control sensors (flow, level, pressure, analysis, etc.); preferably in water distribution and sewer utility operations. Experience with computer-based maintenance management systems, Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and UPS also desired. Ability to work oncall status and/or overtime as needed.

Salary Range: $62,195 - $76,016 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Position will remain open until filled. EOE
