Franklin International in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Technician for an on-site role at 2020 Bruck Street. The position focuses on calibration of tools and measuring devices to international/national standards and maintaining calibration documentation.
The candidate will collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and lab personnel, and assist in maintaining equipment tolerances and calibration schedules.
Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Technician. This is an on-site position located at 2020 Bruck Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207.
Promotes the production of quality product through accurate and timely calibration of tools and other measuring devices. Calibrates or adjusts equipment against certified equipment that has a known relationship to internationally or nationally recognized standards. Where no such standards exist, documents the basis for the calibration. Assists in troubleshooting production and lab equipment as it relates to calibration accuracy. Reviews CAR’s in regards to calibration and measurement capability as needed. Performs inspections as required to support and maintain PSM standards. Assists in determining and establishing equipment tolerances. Establishes and maintains calibration schedules. Evaluates and adjusts calibration schedules based upon calibration records. Establishes and maintains a documented system for plant equipment calibration. Repairs measuring devices and other types of equipment. Creates and maintains documented calibration procedures, equipment lists, equipment files, and manuals. Obtains calibration data using various collection devices and test equipment. Maintains calibration records and equipment information using calibration software. Assigns identification numbers and tags plant equipment.
Cooperates with other departments. Coordinates with production, engineering, quality, and lab personnel the need to take any equipment out of service to calibrate or repair. Upon any repair by maintenance that requires calibration before going back into service, adjusts schedule to allow immediate response to avoid unnecessary equipment downtime. Notifies maintenance of any broken or malfunctioning equipment detected during any scheduled calibration. Generates work orders for repair as needed. Observes all safety and environmental guidelines while handling products, raw materials and wastes.
3pm-11:30pm M-F (flexible on hours)
This position requires an associate’s degree and/or related technical training in instrumentation and controls with 2 years related experience. Must be able to research, learn, and utilize new technology related to the field of calibration.
