Job summary

Ellab-Inc in Columbus, OH is seeking a Field Calibration Technician to ensure customer equipment is calibrated accurately and within specification. The role primarily follows normal business hours but requires travel to customer sites and occasional off-hours or weekend work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field calibration experience in a cGMP environment.
• Technical experience and/or related degree preferred.
• Knowledge of measurement uncertainty, traceability, and calibration intervals.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025 is a plus.
• Experience with CMMS systems or similar software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Follow field calibration program onsite and adhere to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and GMP requirements.
• Perform calibrations and verifications for field calibration projects.
• Interface with customers to develop intervals and tolerances, scheduling, and communicate results.
• Track and communicate project statuses for field calibration projects.
• Maintain knowledge on standards, regulations, and news related to calibration.
• Record and reconcile project costs and information for final billing.
• Analyze calibration data to ensure equipment tolerances are met.
• Troubleshoot customer and Ellab equipment.
• Support and maintain calibration department equipment inventory.
• Coordinate with construction team to schedule calibrations.

Job Description:

The Field Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring that customer equipment is calibrated correctly and providing accurate readings. The position will primarily work during normal business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, but will require travel to customer sites and may require occasional off-hours and weekend work. The goal of the Field Calibration Technician is to meet all customer expectations while performing field support of customer equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Following the organization’s field calibration program when onsite and following all customer, internal, ISO 9001, and GMP requirements
• Performing calibrations and verifications for field calibration projects
• Interfacing with customers to develop interval and tolerances, scheduling, and communicating calibration results
• Tracking and communicating project statuses for field calibration projects
• Maintaining knowledge on standards, regulations, issues, and news with respect to calibration
• Recording and reconciling project costs and information required for final billing
• Analyzing and interpreting data from calibration results if it meets equipment tolerances
• Troubleshooting customer and Ellab equipment
• Supporting and maintaining the field calibration department equipment inventory
• Coordination with construction team to schedule calibrations

Requirements:

• 5+ Years of field calibration experience preferably in a cGMP industry
• Previous technical experience and/or related degree preferred
• Knowledge of measurement principles: measurement uncertainty, measurement traceability, measurement standards, test uncertainty, calibration intervals, and out-of-tolerance reporting
• Experience with BMRAM or other CMMS
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements preferred
