Job description

About Revive Environmental

Revive Environmental is a mission-driven, early-stage environmental technology company delivering rapid, permanent solutions for PFAS and other persistent environmental contaminants. Our flagship Annihilator™ systems are built on patented supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology and are setting a new standard for destruction of PFAS-laden waste streams.

Revive is a startup. We operate with the speed, resourcefulness, and hands-on ownership that early-stage companies require, and every member of our team plays a direct role in scaling a technology built to solve one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our team and help keep Revive's PFAS destruction technology running safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The I&E Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, field instrumentation, and process control equipment supporting Revive's supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) units. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams to ensure equipment reliability, process stability, and a safe working environment.

Are you someone who wants access to some of the world's most advanced environmental technologies and is passionate about making the world a better place to live? Are you someone that has high energy, and loves collaboration and solving real-world challenges? If so, come and do your life's best work at Revive Environmental.

What to Expect at a Growing Startup

Revive is small, moving fast, and building something that does not yet exist anywhere else. That work does not fit neatly into a fixed schedule. This role calls for real ownership of outcomes rather than hours worked, and the person in this position should expect the effort required, particularly around commissioning milestones, field events, and emergent operational issues, to extend beyond the standard day. We aim to be direct about that expectation up front, because the candidates who thrive at Revive are the ones who choose it with open eyes.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, lighting, and power distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in low- and medium-voltage systems.
  • Interpret and work from one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with maintenance procedures and schedules.
Instrumentation
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters; control valves, valve positioners, actuators, and solenoids; and analytical and detection instruments.
  • Perform loop checks and instrument functional testing.
  • Document calibration and maintenance activities in the CMMS.
Process Control & Automation
  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant process control systems including DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and associated I/O.
  • Support control loop performance through testing, tuning, and optimization to improve process stability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot control strategies, logic, interlocks, and permissives during startups, shutdowns, and process upsets.
  • Perform I/O verification, loop checks, and functional testing for new or modified control systems.
  • Support control system changes and upgrades in accordance with Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
  • Assist engineering and operations with automation projects, control upgrades, and system expansions.
  • Maintain control system backups, documentation, and configuration records as required.
  • Provide technical support during abnormal operations and participate in control-related incident investigations.
Safety, Compliance & Reliability
  • Perform all work in compliance with site safety policies, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards (including NFPA 70 and 70E).
  • Follow permit systems including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot Work, and Confined Space Entry.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment deficiencies, and reliability risks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Documentation
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to support plant objectives.
  • Communicate clearly during troubleshooting and system modifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, equipment status, and system changes.
Local Specific Requirements for the Role
  • Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, on-call assignments, nights, weekends, and plant outages as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, cause-and-effect diagrams, and electrical drawings.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or specialty chemical operations.
  • Experience with specific DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens).
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety training or certification.
