Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Instrumentation and Control Technician for our client in California. The role focuses on calibration, maintenance, and repair of process instruments across a busy industrial facility, ensuring high uptime and accurate control.

You will install and calibrate transmitters, sensors, controllers, and analyzers, troubleshoot issues, and document maintenance activities. A diploma or trade qualification and 5+ years of hands-on experience are expected.

• National Diploma or relevant trade qualification in Instrumentation or related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on Instrumentation Technician experience in industrial settings.
• Proficient with various instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and calibration equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Install, calibrate, maintain and repair process instruments including transmitters, sensors, controllers and analyzers.
• Troubleshoot faults in instrumentation and control systems and implement repair strategies.
• Inspect and test safety-critical instrumentation for reliability and compliance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Instrumentation and Control Technician to support their operations in Welkom. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of process control systems, sensors, and instrumentation across their industrial facility. You will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of instruments, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate has a strong hands-on background in industrial automation and a keen eye for detail. This position offers the chance to work with sophisticated equipment in a dynamic production environment, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of critical processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a variety of process instruments, including transmitters, sensors, controllers, and analyzers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control systems, implementing effective repair strategies.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of safety-critical instrumentation to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Work with PLCs and DCS systems, performing basic troubleshooting and configuration tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, calibration results, and equipment performance data.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to identify and implement improvements to instrumentation and control strategies.

Requirements

• National Diploma or relevant trade qualification in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial or process manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in working with various types of instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level) and associated signal types.
• Experience with calibration equipment and procedures.
• Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
