Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company operates WECTEC Staffing Services, and this role is on site at the South Texas nuclear plant in Wadsworth, TX. You will work with a team to prepare I&C portions of engineering change packages for transformer upgrades and monitoring systems.

The position requires 5+ years in I&C engineering for nuclear plants and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with strong data analysis, configuration management, and VE&V understanding. Pre-employment nuclear checks apply.

About the role:

You will work on location at the South Texas nuclear plant in Wadsworth, TX.

You will support supporting the station's Units 1 & 2 Unit Auxiliary Transformer Replacement Projects. You will work with a team performing a design activity to prepare the I&C portion of the engineering change packages to replace unit auxiliary transformers and associated monitoring and protection equipment.

You will report to the site Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine required I/O signals, associated topology, and configuration (with concurrence from Operations, System Engineering, and Electrical Responsible Engineer),
• Determination and communication of required device configurations and associated topology to the manufacturer,
• Facilitate the development of annunciation device and Integrated Computer System (ICS) alarm configurations (with concurrence from Operations and System Engineer),
• Develop trip logic diagram modifications (with concurrence from Operations, System Engineer, and Electrical Responsible Engineer),
• EC development and Document Change Notice (Amendment) preparation.IC design inputs include, but are not limited to:
• Transformer instrumentation (pressure, temperature, analyzers) configuration and specifications and related process connections
• Existing and new transformer trip and alarm logic
• Existing I/O to I&C quantity, configuration, and specifications
• New I/O to I&C via Modbus/TCP quantity, configuration, and specifications
• New transformer ancillary equipment heat dissipation
• Cable/wiring specification and configuration for I/O and network data transfer
• Configuration of annunciators and alarms
• Network infrastructure, capacity, specification, and configuration
• Transformer network infrastructure requirements
• Cyber security and critical digital asset protocols (including port access controls)
• Software for transformer monitoring systems
• System engineering data requirements for transformer equipment and monitors
• Transformer system equipment installation, testing, and commissioning requirements
• Required I&C maintenance activities related to transformer equipment

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience of I&C Engineering with nuclear power plant design, systems, and components
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Understanding of configuration management, requirements management, and V&V concepts.
• Knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
• Experience with data entry and database management.
• You will pass a preemployment nuclear background, drug screen and fitness for duty.
