Job summary

Part‑time instructor, Mon – Fri for all semesters (Fall, Winter, Spring/Summer)

Position Summary

Instructors are responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment to maximize student learning. They should be able to deliver course content in a classroom setting as well as in a hands‑on lab setting to skilled trades employees including sponsored DOL apprentices.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understanding of and ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Use of email, internet‑based resources, and common Office software
  • Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including incorporating online learning systems
  • Understanding of ADA requirements and willingness to create accessible materials
  • Effective interpersonal skills
Specific Course Opportunities May Include
  • Develop and write course content including outcomes and objectives for approval by Delta College
  • Develop daily lesson plans including instructional aids for future Delta College use
  • Incorporate field experience and technical knowledge into student presentations that emphasize interactive, hands‑on practice
Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) years’ experience in Industrial Process Instrumentation
  • Associate’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent Journeyman’s Card
Additional Experiences Considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or education
  • Journeyman’s card in instrumentation
  • Previous experience in teaching and class development
