Job summary

Position Summary Information

Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:

Instructors are responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment to maximize student learning.

Instructors will be assigned to teach developmental and/or college level math courses in traditional classroom settings or online as needed in the Science and Mathematics Division at Delta College.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Delta College.
  • Demonstrative the ability to include culturally competent and inclusive teaching practices that meet the college’s commitment to belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion ( BEDI ).
  • Demonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course and/or program requirements.
  • Demonstrate a philosophy of teaching that provides learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students and supports students needing accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ).
  • Familiarity with internet-based teaching resources and experience using a learning management system to deliver course material
  • Ability to teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, asynchronous and synchronous online courses.
  • Possess effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mathematics or statistics, OR Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 hours of successful graduate level mathematics or statistics coursework
  • Ability to teach on a Delta campus or Center
