Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an independent Design Engineer to lead the production design of instrument transformers, from concept through production hand-off, while ensuring compliance with IEEE/IEC standards.

The role emphasizes autonomous project execution, detailed drawings, BOM creation, and thorough test procedures, with strong collaboration across PM, Production, Sourcing, QA, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Electrical Design.

Responsibilities

• Design instrument transformers from 0.6kV to 69 kV class, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Manage design projects from quoting through production hand-off with detailed drawings, BOMs, and production instructions.
• Ensure designs comply with IEEE, IEC, and other relevant industry standards.
• Develop and implement final test procedures with verification reports to validate performance.
• Provide production and testing support to integrate design into manufacturing processes.
• Drive quality and cost optimization to meet targets for delivery and performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Production, Sourcing, QA and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Uphold safety and quality expectations and foster continuous improvement.
