Job summary

BD, Becton, Dickinson and Company in Sparks, MD, is seeking an Instrument Test Technician 1 to perform both production assembly and complete system analysis, testing and optimization of instrument performance in a regulated environment.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or software issues, read drawings, train teammates, and ensure GMP and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• AA degree in mechatronics or related field; 0 years experience or 5 years of troubleshooting.
• Capable of supporting testing for moderately complex instruments.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor others.
• Commitment to Continuous Improvement (Lean) with CI project participation.
• Proficient reading drawings and measuring dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and understand the entire assembly process for instruments.
• Conduct functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument.
• Analyze results to determine pass/fail and provide solutions.
• Improve system performance through data-driven adjustments.
• Read drawings and work instructions to ensure workmanship standards.
• Provide training to associates on mechanical and testing activities.
• Maintain GMP compliance and safety standards.
