Job summary

ISC Constructors LLC seeks NCCER-certified Instrument Technicians with a minimum of 6 years of craft-specific experience to support our maintenance program across multiple sites. The role involves calibrating and troubleshooting instrumentation, valves, and controllers, plus field calibration and loop checks.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate's degree in Instrumentation, NCCER certification, and have the ability to read P&ID and ladder diagrams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments.
• Maintain process instruments including valves and monitors.
• Pressure test pneumatic instruments for leaks and controllers.
• Troubleshoot energized motor controls.
• Read P&ID drawings and ladder diagrams.
• Loop check wiring for continuity and termination.
• Field calibrate instruments with transmitters and controllers.
• Evaluate instrument performance for optimization opportunities.

Job description

The Position:

We are looking for positive, energetic NCCER Certified Instrument Technicians with a wide variety of abilities and a minimum of 6 years of experience, to compliment our experienced workforce. Applicants should have the ability to:

• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as a part of the facility’s maintenance program
• Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other instruments
• Pressure test pneumatic instruments for leaks, pneumatic instruments with controllers, transducers, and valves in service
• Perform troubleshooting on energized motor controls
• Size thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses
• Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems
• Involve in evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhancement opportunities
• Loop check electrical wiring for continuity and proper termination
• Perform field calibration of electronic instruments with transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and recorders in service
• Read, understand, correlate, and trouble‑shoot from one‑line schematics P & ID's, and ladder diagrams
• Knowledgeable in the use of electrical equipment testers including V.O.M., AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation tester
• Knowledgeable in communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations
• Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Written Skill Assessment
• Ability to pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks
• Minimum 6 years craft‑specific experience
• Minimum 4 years with NCCER Certification
• Associate's degree in Instrumentation
