Cook Children’s is seeking an Instrument Technician I for our Sterile Processing department in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of trays, sets and equipment under supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma and ideally 1 year of instrument technician experience or relevant vocational training in Sterile Processing, with certification/licensing requirements to follow.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
• Disassembly, cleaning and assembly of surgical instruments per standards.
• Follows hospital policies, dress code and safety rules.

Responsabilités

• Decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization and distribution of trays/sets, equipment and supplies in Sterile Processing with supervision.
• Routine cleaning in the department.
• Distribute OR supplies, trays/sets and equipment as needed.
• Perform tasks neatly and organized.
• Maintain cross-contamination prevention through dress codes and policies.
