Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Instrument Person to support the Survey group in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves field data collection, instrument setup, and assisting with topographic surveys on infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates have HS diploma and working knowledge of survey equipment, with experience in Topcon Total Stations and data transfer. This Regular Full-Time position offers onsite work and opportunities to contribute to public and private sector projects.

Qualifications

• HS degree/diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of surveying equipment and field procedures.
• Experience with Topcon equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist surveying crew with field data collection.
• Operate survey instruments and maintain equipment.
• Read survey levels and record measurements.
• Upload/download data to data collectors daily.
• Perform basic calculations and sketches.
• Maintain stocks and fleet truck supplies.
