Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Instrument Technician to support inter-departmental instrument needs, ensuring proper cleaning, sterilizing and inspection of instrumentation. The role handles Immediate Use Sterilization and Biologic Indicator testing as required.

The position is hourly with pay range $18.80–$22.12 per hour, with actual pay determined by experience and internal equity. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years Sterile Processing experience.
• Certification in sterile processing at the technician level or higher.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent prioritization/organization skills.
• Basic knowledge reading computer printouts and working from task list.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The instrument technician will be responsible for detailed knowledge of the inter-departmental needs. They will coordinate/communicate daily instrument needs with mission partners and team leaders. Must be competent in proper cleaning, sterilizing and inspecting of instrumentation. Must be proficient and responsible for all aspects of the Immediate Use Sterilization process, as well and handling Biologic Indicator testing as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience.

2 years Sterile Processing experience.

Licensure/Certifications: Certification in sterile processing at the technician level or higher from an accredited organization Excellent communication skills Excellent prioritization/organization skills.

Basic knowledge reading computer printouts and working from task list.
