Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High-school diploma or GED; experience and certs to meet CSS requirements.
• Experience: Six months as a central service tech in a health care facility preferred.
• Licensure: CSS technician credential within 24 months of hire (IACHSMM or CBSPD).
• Special Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to use Instrument Tracking System (ABACUS).

Responsibilities

• Foster teamwork and effective communication in the department.
• Perform SPD functions: decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution.
• Adhere to SPD SOPs and YNHH Infection Control policies.
• Complete orientation and training as prescribed; participate in continuous improvement.
• Record and monitor logs and indicators to ensure sterility; report issues.
