Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis is seeking an Instrument Technician to support the OR for upcoming surgeries and respond to emergency cases. This 1.0 FTE night position (10:30PM - 7:00AM), Monday to Friday with no weekends, includes a 12-week orientation after hire and a commitment to a full-time day shift for 12 weeks after hire.

You will decontaminate, clean, process, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute instruments and medical devices, and serve as a resource to the clinical

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in an operating room, medical device reprocessing role or related role OR completion of an approved Fairview Sterile Processing training program.
• Two years experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, a Surgical Technologist, or in a medical device reprocessing role.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification (from the Education/Certification section in the posting).

Responsibilities

• Provides surgical instruments and supplies for procedures and cases.
• Decontaminates, cleans, processes, assembles, sterilizes, stores, and distributes reusable instruments and medical devices.
• Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses, and medical staff regarding instruments and supplies.
• Operates instrument washers, sterilizers, and other processing equipment.
• Inspects, tests, labels, and prepares instruments for sterilization.
