Job summary

UPS Industrial Services is seeking an Instrument Fitter to install, maintain, calibrate, repair, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation systems. You will work with piping, tubing, and steam tracing to ensure safe and reliable operation in compliance with project specs and safety regulations.

The role requires reading P&IDs and drawings, installing instrumentation components, and supporting maintenance, shutdowns, and commissioning activities in a heavy-industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Fitting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of Instrumentation Fitter experience in industrial environments.
• Experience with instrumentation tubing installation and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and steam tracing detail drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install instrument tubing, impulse lines, pneumatic systems, supports, and mounting hardware.
• Install pressure, temperature, flow, and level instrumentation per drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings and loop drawings for proper installations.
• Install and maintain steam tracing systems and related components.
• Support shutdowns, commissioning activities, and safety/compliance requirements.
