Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an Instrument Fitter to install and service instrumentation for our industrial projects in Spring, TX. The role requires reading blueprints, installing devices, and ensuring control systems function correctly.

The successful candidate will have 4 years of journeyman experience, NCCER certification, and a valid driver's license. Safety, quality, and productivity are emphasized in this critical role.

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Certification/License – NCCER and a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
• Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electricity.
• C uts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls using hacksaws and pipe cutters.
• Installs instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation.
• Installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches and other devices.
• May steam trace lines when necessary.
• May install flanges and orifice plates.
• May repair steam traps.
• May perform other duties necessary in order to remove, install or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
