Job summary

Seaboard Energy is seeking an Instrument & Electrical Technician II to join our maintenance team in Missouri. You will work with PLCs, RSLogix 5000 troubleshooting, and oversee safe installation, calibration, and repair of plant instrumentation and electrical equipment.

You will calibrate sensors such as turbidimeters, work on DCS/PLC systems, lead on-site projects, and support energy center equipment while maintaining thorough equipment documentation and contributing to plant reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in biodiesel and/or bio-fuels industry desirable.

  • Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files.

  • Provide leadership in professionalism and ethics.

Job description

S UMMARY

The Instrument & Electrical Technician II will be required to work in a team environment to accomplish the maintenance objectives identified by the Maintenance Superintendent. They are responsible PLC programming and RSLogix 5000 troubleshooting. They are responsible for the safe and proper installation, maintenance and repair of all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment. Duties also include calibration of crucial equipment such as, Turbidimeter, chemical tank transmitters, rewiring of buckets, responding to plant needs during scheduled on call, control valve work and tuning, maintaining proper documentation of equipment data files and contributing to overall well-being of the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All Duties of I&E Tech I
  • Follow all established safety procedures for safe maintaining of all plant equipment
  • Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files
  • Perform calibrations and repair of PH sensors, Pressure, Temperature and Flow transmitters
  • Maintain plant Allen Bradley DCS system, PLC's and supporting instrumentation
  • Provide leadership in professionalism and ethics
  • Work with operations and supervision to solve plant problems
  • Work on motors and 480v systems including troubleshooting mcc buckets, breakers, controllers,
  • Work on plant energy center equipment such as boilers, generators, compressors etc.
  • Run and repair Heat Trace, electrical conduit, wiring and cabling for repairs or new installs.
  • Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities
  • Work directly with and oversee vendors
  • Manage projects based in the I&E field of work
  • Telecommunications and Networking within plant
  • Acrison and bleaching clay project knowledge
  • Low voltage systems
  • Development of systems for projects and future expansions

  • High School diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is primarily operational and requires significant physical activity. The role involves frequent walking, standing, and stair climbing, along with lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. Employees will regularly perform pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. Work is often conducted in outdoor environments and variable weather conditions, with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, and moisture. Adequate visual acuity for reading and monitoring equipment, as well as effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions, are essential. Employees must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for their work areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment is based on assigned units of a manufacturing plant, with frequent mobility through all areas of production. This position will be exposed to all outside climate conditions. The noise level varies widely within different areas of production .

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

10-hour shifts, working schedule to be determined . Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
