Luminant Power LLC is seeking an Instrument and Controls Technician at the Hays Plant in Texas to perform instrumentation, electrical maintenance, and preventive/corrective tasks to ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

The role requires experience with DCS/PLC/HMI, transmitters, sensors, and CMMS (Maximo preferred). You will work under site management and support outages, startup activities, and routine maintenance. Strong safety culture and procedure compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED equivalent required.
• 1 year as I&C or 2 years related work experience.
• Working knowledge of CMMS; Maximo preferred.
• POSS/MASS exams required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, calibrate, test and maintain transmitters, switches, gauges, and sensors.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
• Maintain DCS, PLC, and HMI systems; test loop checks and calibrations.
• Support startup/shutdown, outages, and post-maintenance testing.

This position is responsible for the proper function and maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.**Job Description****Key Accountabilities**1. Instrumentation and Control Systems* Inspect, calibrate, test, and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, switches, gauges, and sensors.* Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electronic, and digital instrumentation.* Maintain and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and associated control equipment.* Test and maintain control valves, positioners, actuators, solenoids, and associated instrumentation.* Verify instrument loops, control logic, alarms, interlocks, permissive, and shutdown systems.* Maintain and troubleshoot boiler controls, turbine controls, combustion controls, burner management systems, and plant auxiliary systems as applicable.* Perform loop checks, functional tests, signal verification, and instrument calibration using appropriate test equipment.* Review and update instrument calibration records, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.* heart communicator, Rosemount transmitters Vega, fisher, rotork, auma, limitorque experience helps### 2. Electrical Maintenance* Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electric motors, motor control centers (MCCs), motor starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).* Maintain and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment within assigned qualifications.* Inspect electrical panels, breakers, disconnect switches, relays, transformers, and associated distribution equipment.* Perform electrical testing, including insulation resistance, continuity, voltage, current, and grounding checks as authorized.* Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, power supplies, wiring, and equipment faults.* Assist with generator auxiliary systems, excitation systems, protective relays, and switchgear maintenance as assigned.* Identify electrical hazards, equipment deterioration, and potential failures, and recommend corrective actions.### 3.
