Job summary

Louisiana State University seeks full-time Instructors to join the University Writing Program this fall, teaching writing and introductory general education courses. Preference for rhetoric, digital composition, and professional/technical writing; 4/4 load and committee work.

One-year renewable contract for non-tenure-track faculty with potential Senior Instructor rank. Required: Master’s degree in English or related field and evidence of outstanding teaching in first-year composition; Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English or related field.
• Evidence of outstanding teaching in first-year composition.
• Coursework in composition pedagogy; experience teaching writing, rhetoric, literature, and/or linguistics at a college or university.

Responsibilities

• Teach writing and introductory general education courses.
• Instructors teach a 4/4 load.
• Serve on a committee dedicated to developing the University Writing Program.
