Instructor/Writer Explosive Ordnance Disposal

89D/E Instructor/Writer - Apply a variety of instructional techniques including lecture, seminar, conference, written and oral tests, hands-on evaluation(s), group discussion and multimedia instruction, serving as a principal source of technical information. Make pen and ink changes to lesson plans, cross-train (attending classes), arrange and engage in instructional preparation and testing material, update technical content of lessons, and develop revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs). Perform Assistant Instructor responsibilities. Provide remediation training, maintain classrooms, sort and maintain training aids and equipment, stock training materials and equipment, and/or assist with outdoor training site maintenance. Prepare the classrooms and training areas as required in the lesson plan by pre-instructional, instructional and re-training actions including the overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas with flexibility in meeting trend analysis. Participate in content revisions, and assist in data collection, maintenance, recordkeeping and request low levels of expendable supply items. Utilize EOD Army lessons learned, mission task analysis, resident and exportable lesson plans, make recommendations for training content revisions. Research current literature, doctrinal publications, and audio-visual materials regarding EOD.

Evaluate student achievement rendering diagnose of student learning challenges particularly low and/or high abilities. Maintain all individual and training data utilizing approved Government programs i.e. Microsoft (MS) Office, Excel, Access, Word or PowerPoint promoting uniformity, operational readiness, personnel support, supply maintenance and academic performance. Utilize good supply discipline, perform preventative maintenance as required on all training equipment to include but not limited to vehicles, various materials handling equipment, test instruments and simulation areas and report any problems within one (1) hour. Notify military/Government leadership in coordination with the COR on the approval of training schedules and changes, authorized student appointments, adjusting schedules on a short, near and long-term basis. Moderate lifting up to 50lbs. May encounter long periods of sitting, standing and walking possibly in inclement weather.

Requirements
  • Graduate of one of the following schools
    • Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) School
    • S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Army Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC)
    • Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC)
    • Journeymen Instructor Training (JIT)
    • Installation Support Cadre Training Course, (ISCTC)
  • Three (3) years of operationally specific experience as an EOD Technician (MOS 89D/E)
  • Three (3) years specific experience in instructing
  • Ability to retrain EOD techniques and procedures to students in classroom and field environments, using current doctrinal publications, audiovisual equipment, training aids, and computer-aided instruction in the retraining of students to an established standard
