Job summary

The J in Kansas City area seeks an instructor to assist with technical direction for 101 Dalmatians Kids and How To Train Your Dragon Jr. for students in 2nd through 12th grade.

Role is part-time, Sundays 12:15pm–5:15pm, Sept 6 through Nov 29, with Dry Tech and rehearsal days and performances on select dates. Candidate should have theatre production experience and a background in teaching or youth programs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with stage/theatre productions, preferably school aged productions.
• Experience in elementary education and teaching a variety of ages and skill levels, especially 2nd -12th grade.
• Ability to provide exemplary customer service to students and their parents/guardians.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students of all ages and abilities.

Stages at the J (The Jewish Community Center’s Youth Theatre program) offers performance opportunities for students with a wide range of talents and background in theatre.

We are currently seeking an instructor to help with technical direction for 101 Dalmatians Kids and How To Train Your Dragon Jr. for students ranging from 2nd through 12th grade.

Schedule

The position will work Sept 6th - November 29th. Schedule is part-time on Sundays 12:15pm - 5:15pm, with a Dry Tech on November 23rd, Student Tech Rehearsals on November 18th and 28th, and Performance Dates on November 22nd and 29th.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

This job requires frequent talking and hearing. Occasional sitting, standing, walking and exposure to loud noise of sound system. Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
