The Master in Counseling Program at OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full- or part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term by term basis for the 2026-2027 academic year. Some appointments may be renewed annually at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling (CMHC, SC, MCFC), Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Licensed and/or certified as a professional counselor (e.g., LPC, LSC, ACS, NCC) or related profession.

• Administer and teach courses term-by-term in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health and School).
• Complete course assessments and improve teaching effectiveness.
• Advise students, hold office hours, and manage records and minor admin tasks.

This position is located in Bend, Oregon.

Instructors may be needed to teach on campus graduate courses in the following areas: School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

If hired into the appointment, the anticipated start date(s) are: September 16; December 16; March 16.

The primary mission of the Master in Counseling Program is to provide graduate level education and the curriculum encompasses most standard fields of the discipline. This position is designed to foster critical thinking, advance student’s knowledge and skills through the teaching of various discipline/courses. The incumbent(s) are expected to provide an intellectual foundation for students concerning the discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and teach course(s) term-by-term in one or more of these disciplines: Counseling (Clinical Mental Health and School).
• Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
• Advise students, be available for office hours, complete record-keeping, and minor administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in one of the following fields (or a related field) is a requirement: Counseling (CMHC, SC, MCFC), Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Licensed and/or certified as a professional counselor, (e.g., LPC, LSC, ACS, NCC) or a related profession (LCSW, LMFT, TSPC, NCT).
• Demonstrated ability to integrate principles of inclusive excellence into counseling instruction and student mentorship, particularly in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling contexts.
