Job Summary

The College of Education invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track part‑time instructor positions to teach on a term‑to‑term basis during the Spring and Fall 2026 academic year. These appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to a regular instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available.

These positions involve developing and delivering courses within the Counselor Education major. Courses may be delivered in hybrid or fully online modalities in undergraduate or graduate programs. Instructors will contribute to the College’s mission of developing change agents in the field of counseling, promoting innovation, social justice, and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or teach counseling courses at the 400‑500 level (Master’s) or 600 level (Doctorate).
  • Participate in training and meetings to develop, maintain, and teach with appropriate technologies in OSU’s learning management system (Canvas).
  • Design instruction that promotes experimental learning and supports students from varied backgrounds.
  • Maintain academic standards and complete required documentation for the appointment.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Counselor Education, or a closely related field for 400‑500 level courses.
  • Doctorate degree in Counseling, Counselor Education, or a closely related field for 600 level courses.
  • Documented experience in teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the course content area.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, teach, and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree at any course level.
  • Experience developing and/or teaching courses using blended technologies and formats (hybrid, online).
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Shared office space is provided in Furman Hall at OSU’s Corvallis campus. Instructors will travel locally for class meetings. Classes meet online and/or in person weekly in Wilsonville or Portland, Oregon. Attendance at quarterly faculty meetings may be required.

Salary and Compensation

Recommended full‑time salary range is commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
