Instructor Pool – 2025/2026 and Fall Term 2026: Natural Resources and Sustainability

Job Summary

The Natural Resources and Sustainability Program at OSU – Cascades in Bend, Oregon, invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track full‑time or part‑time instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis. The role may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and teach one or more course(s) term‑by‑term in the disciplines of Natural Resources, Sustainability, Geology, Fish & Wildlife, and Soil Science.
  • Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Some courses may require driving a university vehicle or using a personal vehicle on behalf of the university.
  • Participate in advising and mentoring students: advise, hold office hours, complete record‑keeping and minor administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in one of the listed fields (or a related field) is required.
  • Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in the state of residence, and be determined to be position qualified.
  • PhD or terminal degree in one of the listed fields (or a related field) is an advantage.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level, strong commitment to undergraduate education and student equity.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Schedule may vary depending on student needs and campus or program activities.
